I'm an artist studying AudioVisual at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
I often involve language in my works, I work with different media like film, collages, poetry, installations and sound.
For me the interesting part of an art piece is to start with researching a subject you find interesting and then finding your personal connection with it, using this as a way to translate your ideas and make your work personal.
I have a big interest in history and human behavior as well as the mind and it's ability to create, lose, think and love..

Flower
A very short animation on life and death and the relation between humans and nature.

I WAS THERE
A photographic installation, projecting found memories in my room, making them mine and yours.
A video I made using photographs, text and paint.
I wrote and sang the music for the video.
2010
A text I wrote in the staircase of my house for a project I did for the jewish people that lived in my house during the second world war and had all been taken to a concentration camp.
I did research and found letters and photo’s as well as birth certificates. I used the final sentence of a text I wrote and painted it in the staircase of my house, this is a monument for the people that used to live in my house and got killed in the camps.
Everyone that would enter my house would be confronted with the house its history. The sentence written in the staircase:
‘I closed my piano and walked down the long stairs, it seemed as if they were longer then ever before. A fraction before they could knock, I opened the door and in silence walked with them, I looked back one more time at my house, Den Texstraat 13.’
